Surely many people know that in the clash some things and events that at first glance look random are not at all random. For example, it has long been known that the number of crystals obtained when removing ordinary obstacles occurs according to a certain sequence of numbers.
The same is the case with the daily offers at the merchant. Magic items appear on him according to a certain cycle (schedule), which was changed with the introduction of a new Super Potion in the Clash of Clans 2020 winter update. Read more about these sequences in this article.
Magic Item Merchant
A merchant is a character in the game who sells all sorts of magic items, books, runes, potions, etc. for crystals.
His shop will be permanently located at your base once you reach the 8th level of the Town Hall.
Despite being located in your home village; it also offers items for the Builder’s Village.
The assortment of his shop lacks Hammers (available only in the League shop) and the Book of Everything.
Merchant Spawn Cycle
Magic items in the trader’s shop appear in order and with a certain cycle.
[su_quote]This is a 39-day sequence of sentences that is the same for all players, however, each player is at a different point in the sequence.[/su_quote]
The cycle was last changed in December 2020 (the free Potion of the Clock Tower is no longer there, the Super Potion has been added) and currently looks like this:
How do you know where you are in a trader’s cycle?
You can find out which day in the cycle your offers are in by comparing the offers you currently see in the game with the list above. So you can understand what products will be available tomorrow or in, say, 3 days.
It is worth noting that there are also repeating (identical) days, so it would be nice to remember what sentences were there a day or two before in order to accurately determine your position in the cycle.
What are the benefits of knowing this sequence?
Understanding when magic items you are interested in will be available at the merchant’s store can help you plan how best to spend your crystals. Now you can find out when the desired book or rune will drop out, whether tomorrow there will be a free bank to speed up the training of troops, etc.
For example, if you want to complete a 7-day hero upgrade with crystals, it will cost 1000, however, the Merchant’s Book of Heroes will only cost 500which will save you 50% of your crystals. Using the table above, you can understand how long you need to wait for this book and whether it is worth waiting at all.
PS The cycle of obtaining crystals for removing obstacles (suddenly, who does not know)
Removing normal obstacles can give you 0 to 6 crystals, and as I mentioned at the beginning of the article, they are obtained according to a certain sequence of numbers.
The number of gems you get always goes in the same order, this is a cycle: 6, 0, 4, 5, 1, 3, 2, 0, 0, 5, 1, 0, 3, 4, 0, 0, 5, 0, 1, 0. If you count, on average you get 2 crystals for each removed obstacle.
However, there are three independent cycles in your home village and in the builder’s village, but crystals are always given according to the same algorithm. The loops are: obstacles in your home village, initial obstacles in your builder village, and spawned obstacles in your builder village.
